1. What is Arc magnets?

Arc magnets are often referred to as tile magnets, being most commonly used in electric motors, generators, and torque couplings due to the configuration of their north and south polarities. They can even be found in sensors and holding applications. The magnets are cylinder-like, with a slight curve to their body, making them ideal for cylinder-like materials and piping. Since neodymium magnets are much stronger than other magnets, using neodymium arc magnets can build stronger forces and power in the items they inhabit.

2. Why are Arc magnets better?

The tile-shaped magnetic steel has better air tightness and higher efficiency. The biggest difference between the tile and the straight plate is that the tile can reduce the number of pole pairs without changing the air gap, thereby improving the efficiency of the motor at high speed. Because the magnetizing surface of the straight plate is always straight, the air gap is guaranteed. Under the same condition, the number of pole pairs cannot be less than that of tile magnets, and electric vehicle motors all use silicon steel sheet stators. The higher the operating frequency, the greater the iron loss, and tile magnets can solve this problem. , After the number of pole pairs is reduced, the working frequency of the silicon steel sheet at the same speed will also decrease, and the iron loss will also be relatively reduced. Usually, high-power motors choose more tile-shaped magnets.

Arc curved magnets will allow you to get the magnets closer to the ends of the stator (de-creasing air gap) and in doing this increase the flux between them. there is no doubt that the curved magnets are better suited for these brushless outrunner dc motors. Also the curved magnet motor will produce more torque for a given amperage.
